It was in Washington DC but the building was named NY… funny eh
The city sent in a crane while the waters were still deep in the streets to knock over the walls that were left after the fire. It’s almost funny, though, because we had been told to expect 4 to 5 inches in the streets in front of our place. They were only off in the prediction by 31 inches.
Crys and I went back downtown before it was officially reopened to get my car that I left in the parking ramp across the street (this picture was actually taken from the ramp), and we saw the pile of rubble. At the time, there was a single water pipe with a house type hydrant on it, spewing water. We looked for a few minutes, then I got my car and we left.
On the day we evacuated from Grand Forks, we were 2 days shy of our 7 month wedding anniversary.
