Oh, this poor little cardinal girl! I don’t know what I interrupted, but she was not amused, and she made it abundantly clear that she wanted me to just keep walking. The funny bit was that as she was trying to look tough and scold me, it was so windy that she had trouble staying on the branch, and her crest kept blowing over, which made her look so funny all I could do was giggle. Her mate was amongst the branches of a tree a short distance away, adding his voice to the, "Move along, Crazy Bug Lady–nothing to see here" chorus.
